Every time Ms. Lauryn Hill hits us with a new rendition of classic music it seems to further cement her status as one of the greatest singers of our generation.

This time is no different. Lauryn’s new take on Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” is an incredible display of Lauryn’s vocal talents that are bound to leave you with goose bumps.

The song is part of a new tribute album, entitled Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone. It’s a collection of Nina’s greatest works, sung by artists like Mary J. Blige, Usher and Jazmine Sullivan. The album will compliment the Netflix documentary, What Happened, Miss Simone?, which details the life and career of the late singer Nina Simone.

Ms. Lauryn Hill, who was given the honourable task of covering “Feeling Good” for the tribute album among five other songs, does such a sincere job of taking on Nina’s legendary hit that the cover stands alone as an original gem.

Backed by the sound of a classic orchestra and a wicked electric guitar solo, this rendition of “Feeling Good” is truly one of Ms. Lauryn Hill’s masterpieces.

Lauryn’s effort to sing the song perfectly comes across as both rhapsodic and touching. Her voice leaves your spine tingling, as the soul within the music enters your body like a James Bond theme song.
