The first lady of the Fugees, Lauryn Hill is set to hit up Toronto for the first time in two years June 21 at the Sound Academy courtesy of INK Entertainment. The eight-time Grammy Award-winner has brought fans great work including the critically acclaimed album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which to this day continues to be mentioned in lists of the greatest hip-hop albums of the last few decades. MTV Unplugged – Lauryn Hill, an album featuring intimate and raw songs performed live, gave listeners a feel of how spiritually invoking her performances can be and would prompt anyone to want to experience her stage presence live. Emma Kombora first found her interest for writing after graduating a journalism program in which she was Entertainment Editor for a youth-led magazine called Say Word through East Metro Youth Services in Scarborough. Through the same program at East Metro and other art/music initiatives in Toronto, she got a taste of everything that goes into journalism from writing and editing to photography. She hopes through Urbanology she can take her experience and knowledge to the next level and bring a new narrative to the world of entertainment and arts.
