The veteran underground hip-hop group Dilated Peoples are back after a seven-year hiatus with the single “Show Me The Way”.

Aloe Blacc leads the way on the hooks to blend the verses from Evidence and Rakaa. The two go back-and-forth on the third verse, with a style that’s reminiscent of earlier days in hip-hop when rappers collaborating in verses was mainstream. This is all on top of a piano-riffed out beat from another veteran, Jake One. With bluesy vocals, jazzy production and bars, which stray away from the typical mainstream hip-hop lyrics, this track is worthy of being put on repeat.

Dilated Peoples’ sixth album Directors of Photography is set to drop on August 12, and will include the single “Good As Gone”, produced by DJ Premier. The group is currently on tour across the U.S. with Jurassic 5.
