Tennessee State University Gentry Center was a hot spot Saturday for all the movers and shakers with their hands in the business side of entertainment thanks to the Music City Industry Summit.

Along with Q&A sessions, panel discussions and artists getting direct feedback on their performances from panelists, the highlight of the day was the keynote by Grammy award winning rapper and entrepreneur T.I.

T.I. had decades of experience to share at the conference: numerous musical accolades, his AKOO clothing line, big screen film roles, his own family-based reality TV show, as well as recurring roles in television shows including Kelsey Grammer’s Starz series Boss and Showtime’s House of Lies with Don Cheadle.

Other professionals joined in on the summit from companies including RCA Records, Revolt TV, A3C Festival, Flat Fitty Luxury Headwear and more. All will discuss marketing, branding, songwriting and other aspects of the entertainment business.

Emma Kombora first found her interest for writing after graduating a journalism program in which she was Entertainment Editor for a youth-led magazine called Say Word through East Metro Youth Services in Scarborough. Through the same program at East Metro and other art/music initiatives in Toronto, she got a taste of everything that goes into journalism from writing and editing to photography. She hopes through Urbanology she can take her experience and knowledge to the next level and bring a new narrative to the world of entertainment and arts.
