Ludacris isn’t playing around on “Beast Mode,” one of the cuts from his most recent LP Ludaversal. For over three minutes, the veteran rapper brings a flurry of punchlines and a rapid fire flow into one lengthy but impressive verse reminiscent of his earlier days. The smooth yet aggressive delivery combined with the banging production from 1500 or Nothin’ definitely ups the replay value. The music video for the song includes a cameo from Seattle Seahawks running back MarShawn Lynch, a football player also referred to as “Beast Mode” for his style of play on the field. Lynch’s memorable “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” quotable from an NFL playoff press conference serves as the premise of the video, with Ludacris not feeling the need to explain himself to the rest of the game due to his longevity.
