“Same Scriptures” features two lyrical emcees who are at different points in their career. Styles P, a veteran who just released a brand-new project, Phantom and the Ghost, has been active for 20 years and is looking to school up-and-comers. His verse features advice and reflection of real life stories without sounding old. The track features a great verse from Chris Rivers, son of the legendary Big Pun, who has nothing but respect for the OGs in the game. Although separated by years in age, Rivers and P’s stories seem all too similar with the struggle of growing up in rough circumstances. Finally, mix in the emotion-evoking voice of Dyce Payne, and the video is definitely worth keeping in rotation. Cameron Da Silva
