Hours before the release of his returning album, Dream.ZONE.Achieve, Smoke DZA dropped, “Fhvt BVsturd”. The rapper teamed up with Pro Era’s Joey Badass, as well as Kirk Knight, who samples 50 Cent’s “High All the Time” and mixes a head-bobbing beat for the two to rap on. DZA incorporates that east coast sound in “Fhvt BVsturd”. It is unapologetically New York. DZA and Joey rap about their lyrical game and prove it with word play and seamless metaphors. DZA raps that he competes with “ghost” rappers and legends that died, but Joey gives him a run for his money in the second verse. “They trying to make me slit another wrist and imprison me / You ain’t even gotta ask the risk of fucking with the young asterisk / So spectacular with this rapper shit,” raps Joey. Dream.ZONE.Achieve is now available on iTunes and has appearances by Cam’ron, TDE’s Ab-soul, BJ the Chicago Kid and features production from Jahlil Beats. Simone Lewis
