Following the 2014 release of her debut album Aquarius, Tinashe is providing her fans with a gift, in the form of a new mixtape entitled Amethyst, named after her own birthstone. The tape is a collection of seven songs that were recorded in the songstress’ bedroom during her Christmas vacation. Tinashe aims to lift spirits on “Dreams Are Real”, which sets the tone with its smooth expressive sound. Recruits Mae N. Maejor and Smash David add to the song’s vibe, providing a beautifully executed production. The handy-work of producers like IAMSU!, Ryan Hemsworth, and several others can also be felt throughout the mixtape. Tinashe shows no sign of a slowdown as she prepares to embark on her own tour with Iggy Azalea in addition to working on collaborations with DJ Mustard for her sophomore album, both expected for this summer.
