Dom Kennedy walks on stage, dressed simply in a black T-shirt and jeans with black sneakers and a gold chain to match. In true Dom fashion, he has a mic in one hand and a bottle of champagne in the other.

It’s a little westside swag in the six.

Much to the rowdy crowd’s delight, Dom’s song selection flips back and forth between songs from all of his mixtapes and albums including Yellow Album and Get Home Safely. Performing songs like “2 Bad”, Dom effectively mesmerizes fans with his laidback flow.

But it is his surprise acapella version of Biggie Smalls’ classic “Big Poppa” that truly amplifies the crowd’s energy. Eager for pictures, videos and a perfect view inside Toronto’s Tattoo venue, hip-hop heads shove their way to the front of the stage.

As the Cali-native performs “After School” the audience simmers down and the vibe mellows out a little as fans sing along with him.

Dom Kennedy embraces the crowd by taking selfies and signing his autograph on anything from pieces of paper and the backs of iPhones to the chests of the ladies in the audience.

Like his tour mate and fellow Los Angeles rapper, Casey Veggies, Dom Kennedy embraces the crowd by taking selfies and signing his autograph on anything from pieces of paper and the backs of iPhones to the chests of the ladies in the audience.

By night’s end the rapper makes sure that concertgoers feel appreciated, like they got their money’s worth.

Dom Kennedy and Casey Veggies continue touring throughout December with upcoming dates in New Orleans, Dallas and Houston.
