Fans can expect some new music from k-os as he’s set to drop his new single “WiLD4TheNight (EgoLand)” on Tuesday. Of course, this means a new album is on the way as well. His sixth album Can’t Fly Without Gravity is due out in 2015.

k-os has also switched record labels for the new project, joining rock/indie label Dine Alone Records. And though k-os’ latest projects could blend with the music of City and Colour or the Arkells, his new single is some of his most hardcore rap yet. The label change makes sense for him and Dine Alone though as k-os has always been blending the rap and rock genres together. This can be seen on his last record Black on Blonde, which featured a disc of hip-hop, and another disc featuring rock music.

Inspiration for the new album came from his family roots. He traveled to Trinidad – where he lived for three years. “My Canadian accent set me apart from kids there—they used to say, ‘Yankee go home,’ and stuff like that. I didn’t fit in, but going back opened up a well of passion.”

Canadian hip-hop vet k-os will be ‘hittin’ them with synonym adrenaline’ tonight (July 25) as he headlines Toronto’s Festival of Beer inside the Exhibition Place and on August 9 at the Wolfe Island Music Festival on Ontario’s Frontenac Islands.
