In the battle rap world, there’s not many that can boast the resume and storied past that Brooklyn emcee Math Hoffa has. On his latest single “My Music” Math shows fans and haters alike, his pen game in battle rap is just as deadly when songwriting.

The track produced by BeatznBarz and featuring Bizzle Bless on the chorus has Math spitting about his upbringing and how it’s hard to adjust coming from the streets to being around rappers. Hoffa lets it be known within the first few lines of the song, “I’m a BK nigga but I kill’em with the flow, got the bullets and the bars, which way you wanna go?

On the second verse Math goes into detail how he feels about a physical altercation he had with battle rapper Dizaster and his crew and explains what the outcome might be if they crossed paths again.

From the beat to Hoffa’s flow, “My Music” is fire, the only critique may be the chorus as it sounds like it could have been a little more polished. Regardless Math Hoffa has more in the chamber than battle raps, he’s definitely one to keep an eye out for as the year progresses.
