Disney’s customizable videogame, Infinity, will be expanding, and becoming all the more super, with Marvel Super Heroes.

At a press conference, the Disney Interactive team announced Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes, the sequel to its interactive videogame with miniature toys, power discs with enhancing abilities and toy boxes containing the worlds the miniatures interact in. The follow-up version will be released along with a slew of new characters, items and features for Disney fans to enjoy.

Six figures were revealed to complement the new version of Infinity: Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Thor, Iron Man and Black Widow. Disney says that over a dozen more will be revealed before the launch and teaser videos showed other characters such as Spider Man and Rocket Raccoon.

The team also announced a bunch of new features coming to 2.0. Along with new toys, play sets and power discs, the Toy Box mode, which allows gamers to create their own worlds and stories, will add tower defense and dungeon crawler inspired mini games with a story to complement them. Customization features have been improved, which aim to make it easier for younger fans of the game to create their own unique worlds. In addition to users having the ability to construct their own levels, gamers can also customize the inside of their Super Hero homes — think LittleBigPlanet meets The Sims.

Demands from fans have also been met, as character levels will now be capped at 20 and new vehicles will be added including heavily fan requested motorcycles. Larger worlds will also serve to compensate for certain superheroes that will allow users to traverse over a large area of land quickly through flight.

The good news for current Infinity owners is all the previous Infinity branded toys, boxes, power discs and even the Infinity base will be backwards compatible with the 2.0 version.

Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes will be released on all the current and mobile platforms, excluding the Wii. A price point has not been announced as of yet for the new starter kit.

Since its release in August, three million starter sets have been sold and Disney has made $500 million on Infinity.

More news on Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes will be announced at E3 this year, which begins June 10 in Los Angeles.
